For salons & barbershops
Phone charging stations for salons & barbershops
An appointment is a booked block with a phone in it. Ampz keeps your clients charged at the front counter and pays your shop on every rental.
The outlet in your shop is behind the mirror
A colour or a full cut is a long appointment, and the client spends most of it on the phone — that is what the chair time is for. The sockets at the station belong to the clippers and the dryer, so the ask lands on your stylist: unplug something, or lend a cable off the desk. A station answers it at the counter instead, and nobody at your shop is chasing a borrowed cord at close. If you run a room where people wait rather than book, the same thing happens — see every venue type we have written up.
How it works — scan, pay, charge, return
A client scans the machine’s QR code, pays for a power bank, and returns it to any Ampz station when they are done. They scan the code on the machine or use the app — both paths work, and nothing has to be downloaded to rent. It goes in a pocket or a lap and keeps charging through the whole appointment, so nobody is parked next to a wall socket. No staff involved, no cables at the desk.
What your shop earns
Ampz runs on the partnership model that fits your business. Every station also carries an on-machine screen, and your shop gets up to three of its own promotions on it — a colour service, a product you retail, the booking link.
Host
Ampz owns and services the machine; your venue shares in the revenue. Zero capex.
Purchase
Buy the unit outright and keep the rental income.
Lease
Fixed monthly cost, predictable, no revenue-share math.
Exact revenue terms and screen specs are set per model and location — request a plan.
Zero operational lift
Ampz handles servicing and monitoring remotely. Your stylists do not manage batteries, do not troubleshoot the machine, and do not add a task to close. It takes about a square foot on the counter by the register and runs off a standard outlet — no build-out and no electrical run. Once the agreement is signed, the sequence is: site walk → install → live.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the hardware?
Depends on your model — Ampz (Host), your shop (Purchase/Lease).
Where does it go in a shop this size?
On the front counter by the register. It takes about a square foot and needs a standard outlet, not a dedicated run.
What happens if a power bank isn't returned?
Covered in the partner agreement; not the shop's liability.
How long is the contract?
Term length is set per partnership model — ask for specifics with your plan.
Does it need wifi or an electrical run?
Standard power outlet; the unit connects over cellular, not house wifi.
When do we see our first payout?
Payout timing is set per model — ask for specifics with your plan.
What cities is this in?
We started in Dallas and install anywhere in the US. If your venue wants a machine, apply and we will make it happen — no waitlist, no service-area restriction.
