Phone charging stations for gyms

Members train with the phone in their hand. Ampz keeps it charged, adds an amenity you didn't have to build, and pays your gym on every rental.

Host a stationSee how it works

The phone is part of the workout now

Music, the training app that logs the sets, the timer between rounds, the ride home afterwards — a member whose battery dies loses all of it at once, and the session gets cut short for a reason that has nothing to do with your equipment or your coaching. It is an amenity gap your gym didn't create and can now get paid to close. For the full breakdown of placement, setup and what to expect, see our guide to phone charging stations for gyms.

How it works — scan, pay, charge, return

A member scans the machine's QR code, pays for a power bank, and returns it to any Ampz station when they're done. They scan the code on the machine or use the app — both paths work, and nothing has to be downloaded to rent. The power bank goes in a pocket or a gym bag and keeps charging through the session, so nobody leaves a phone plugged in at a wall socket where they can't see it.

What your gym earns

Ampz runs on the partnership model that fits your business. Every station also carries an on-machine screen — added visibility for class schedules, challenges, or a sponsor.

Host

Ampz owns and services the machine; your gym shares in the revenue. Zero capex.

Purchase

Buy the unit outright and keep the rental income.

Lease

Fixed monthly cost, predictable, no revenue-share math.

Exact revenue terms and screen specs are set per model and location — request a plan.

Nothing for the front desk to do

Ampz handles servicing and monitoring remotely. Your staff don't hand anything out, don't take payment, don't manage batteries and don't troubleshoot the machine — which matters most at a desk that is already checking members in, selling drinks and answering the phone. Installation requires a certificate of insurance on file before a unit ships — once that's issued, the sequence is: sign → site walk → COI issued → install → live.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns the hardware?

Depends on your model — Ampz (Host), your gym (Purchase/Lease).

What happens if a power bank isn't returned?

Covered in the partner agreement; not the gym's liability.

How long is the contract?

Term length is set per partnership model — ask for specifics with your plan.

Does it need wifi or an electrical run?

Standard power outlet; the unit connects over cellular, not house wifi.

Where does it go — front desk or locker room?

Wherever members already stop. Front desk and lobby are the most common; the unit needs a standard outlet and a spot people can see.

When do we see our first payout?

Payout timing is set per model — ask for specifics with your plan.

What cities is this in?

We started in Dallas and install anywhere in the US. If your venue wants a machine, apply and we will make it happen — no waitlist, no service-area restriction.
