Phone charging stations for arcades and family entertainment centers

Families stay for hours, and the phone runs the visit. Ampz keeps it charged, adds an amenity you did not have to build, and pays your venue on every rental.

A long visit runs on one battery

Open play, a birthday party, a tournament night — a visit to a family entertainment center is measured in hours, not minutes. Through all of it a parent’s phone is doing the work: the game-card balance in the app, the payment at the counter, the photos of the party, the group chat sorting out who picks up whom. When that battery dies the visit usually ends with it, and the family leaves earlier than they planned for a reason that has nothing to do with your games. The outlets on an arcade floor are feeding cabinets and prize machines, so the ask turns into a phone left charging behind the counter that your staff are now minding. It is a gap you did not create and can now get paid to close. If you run another room where people stay a while, the same thing happens — see every venue type we have written up.

How it works — scan, pay, charge, return

A guest scans the machine’s QR code, pays for a power bank, and returns it to any Ampz station when they are done. They scan the code on the machine or use the app — both paths work, and nothing has to be downloaded to rent. The power bank goes in a pocket or a bag and keeps charging while the family plays, so nobody is stuck standing at a wall outlet next to the prize counter and nobody has to leave the party room to stay near one. They keep it through the visit and drop it back on the way out. No staff involved, no cables behind the counter.

What your venue earns

Ampz runs on the partnership model that fits your business. Every station also carries an on-machine screen, and your venue gets up to three of its own promotions on it — party packages, a game-card special, a league or tournament night.

Host

Ampz owns and services the machine; your venue shares in the revenue. Zero capex.

Purchase

Buy the unit outright and keep the rental income.

Lease

Fixed monthly cost, predictable, no revenue-share math.

Exact revenue terms and screen specs are set per model and location — request a plan.

Nothing for the counter to do

Ampz handles servicing and monitoring remotely. Your staff do not hand anything out, take payment, manage batteries or troubleshoot the machine — which matters most at a counter that is already loading game cards, checking in parties and redeeming prizes. It takes about a square foot and runs off a standard outlet — no build-out and no electrical run, so no part of the floor goes out of use. Once the agreement is signed, the sequence is: site walk → install → live.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns the hardware?

Depends on your model — Ampz (Host), your venue (Purchase/Lease).

Where does it go — the entrance, the party rooms or the prize counter?

Wherever families already stop. Near the entrance or the game-card counter is most common; the unit needs about a square foot, a standard outlet and a spot people can see. You know your floor better than we do, so we work that out with you.

Does my counter staff have to do anything?

No. Renting and returning happen at the machine, so nothing is handed out, no payment is taken at the counter, and no batteries are managed by your staff.

What happens if a power bank isn't returned?

Covered in the partner agreement; not the venue's liability.

How long is the contract?

Term length is set per partnership model — ask for specifics with your plan.

Does it need wifi or an electrical run?

Standard power outlet; the unit connects over cellular, not house wifi.

Can a guest keep the power bank while they play?

Yes — it goes in a pocket or a bag and comes back to any Ampz station, so moving from the floor to the party room does not end the rental.

When do we see our first payout?

Payout timing is set per model — ask for specifics with your plan.

What cities is this in?

We started in Dallas and install anywhere in the US. If your venue wants a machine, apply and we will make it happen — no waitlist, no service-area restriction.
