Phone charging stations for hotels
Guests arrive off a flight with a dead phone and ask the front desk for a charger. Ampz answers that at the desk, adds an amenity you didn't have to build, and pays the property on every rental.
The charger question already comes to your front desk
A guest lands, navigates to you on the phone, checks in on the phone, and arrives at the desk with almost nothing left in the battery. Then the phone is the room key, the map, the restaurant booking, the boarding pass and the rideshare out — so a dead one turns into a question your staff have to answer, usually by lending a cable nobody gets back or pointing at an outlet behind a lobby chair. That is an amenity gap your property didn't create and can now get paid to close, without adding a task to a desk that is already checking in a queue.
How it works — scan, pay, charge, return
A guest scans the machine's QR code, pays for a power bank, and returns it to any Ampz station when they're done. They scan the code on the machine or use the app — both paths work, and nothing has to be downloaded to rent. The power bank goes in a pocket or a bag, so the guest can keep charging on the way to the room, out to dinner, or into a cab, instead of standing next to a wall socket in your lobby.
What your property earns
Ampz runs on the partnership model that fits your property. Every station also carries an on-machine screen, and the property gets promotional slots on it — the spa, the restaurant, an event — set per agreement.
Host
Ampz owns and services the machine; your property shares in the revenue. Zero capex.
Purchase
Buy the unit outright and keep the rental income.
Lease
Fixed monthly cost, predictable, no revenue-share math.
Exact revenue terms and screen specs are set per model and location — request a plan.
Nothing for the front desk to do
Ampz handles servicing and monitoring remotely. Your staff don't hand anything out, don't take payment, don't manage batteries and don't troubleshoot the machine — which matters most at a desk already running check-in, late arrivals and the phone. There is no build-out, no millwork and no electrical run: the unit sits on a counter or a stand near an outlet. Once the agreement is signed, the sequence is: site walk → install → live.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the hardware?
Depends on your model — Ampz (Host), your property (Purchase/Lease).
What happens if a power bank isn't returned?
Covered in the partner agreement; not the property's liability.
How long is the contract?
Term length is set per partnership model — ask for specifics with your plan.
Does it need wifi or an electrical run?
Standard power outlet; the unit connects over cellular, not house wifi.
Where does it go — lobby or check-in desk?
Wherever guests already stop. The check-in desk and the lobby seating area are the most common; the unit needs a standard outlet and a spot people can see. It takes about a square foot of counter — it sits on the counter, it is not a vending machine.
Do guests need to be checked in to use it?
No. Anyone in the lobby can rent, including guests waiting on a room, people meeting someone, and event or restaurant traffic.
Can a guest take the power bank off the property?
Yes — it goes in a pocket or a bag and keeps charging. It is returned to any Ampz station, so a guest heading out for the day is not tied to the lobby.
Does the front desk have to hand anything out or take payment?
No. The guest scans the machine and pays there. Staff hand out nothing, take no payment and manage no batteries.
When do we see our first payout?
Payout timing is set per model — ask for specifics with your plan.
What cities is this in?
We started in Dallas and install anywhere in the US. If your venue wants a machine, apply and we will make it happen — no waitlist, no service-area restriction.
